Day 6: A New Perspective
Hello there,
Today is the last full course day of the course because tomorrow is a wide-open and free day (but there will be a lesson!)
Before we go any further I will ask you to answer this question (and answer it within the realms of actual possibility.)
- What would creatively delight me today?
When we talk about being creative, for most of us that is a solitary adventure. Some of us haven't even told our closest people how much writing means to us, so writing is often something we do in the silence of our own spaces, in the early morning hours, or when people think we are doing other things.
What happens when we take writing out into the light and the air?
Today I invite you to go out into the world and look for inspiration. Be creatively delighted by the whole world.
I KNOW it would delight me to write some of my book at a table in a coffee shop and to incorporate something of that place and time into the book. It would be like a wink that only I know is in there.
Can you do that? Can you take something you are writing and add a bit of the spice or the seasoning that you find out in the world?
- What happens when you go out with the firm rule that something you experience today has to go in what you are currently writing?
- How does your attention change?
- How does your writing change?
- How does your movement in the world change?
Be creatively delighted by the world and let that creatively delight your work.
Let the world in. See what happens.
And make sure you have cleared at least some of your schedule for tomorrow - or that you have a plan for as much of a clear day as possible as soon as possible.
With so much love,
